The Linnean Society Terms and Conditions ("Agreement")

Please read these Terms and Conditions ("Agreement", "Terms and Conditions") carefully before using https://www.linnean.org/ ("the Site") operated by The Linnean Society of London ("us", "we", or "our"). This Agreement sets forth the legally binding terms and conditions for your use of the Site at https://www.linnean.org/.

By accessing or using the Site in any manner, including, but not limited to, visiting or browsing the Site or contributing content or other materials to the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Capitalised terms are defined in this Agreement.

• The Society will only refund payments done in error i.e duplicate payments
• Payments made online via our secure page will be refunded to the card used for the transaction.
• The Society will not refund payments made for annual contributions or events unless there are exceptional circumstances.
• Please contact the Society on events@linnean.org if you require a refund.

As per UK Consumer Contracts Regulations customer are eligible for a refund if they notify info@linnean.org within 14 days of receiving their goods. You have another 14 days to return the goods to us at The Linnean Society, Burlington House, London, W1J 0BF from the date that you notify us of cancellation.

In cases of pre order the right to refund is the same as a standard order i.e. within 14 days of receiving the goods.

We ship throughout the UK and worldwide. Shipping charges are calculated at checkout once a billing and shipping address have been entered.

Please note that for international shipments import taxes, fees and charges are the responsibility of the customer. Look out for a notification from your local authority regarding required payment so your goods can clear customs and be delivered to your address.

Goods should be returned at your own cost and remain the responsibility of the customer until delivered to The Linnean Society.

If you are sending a return from outside the UK you must clearly mark the outside of the package with the word 'RETURN'.

A full refund of the cost of goods but not fees and charges for used services such as shipping will be refunded via the original payment method within 14 days of delivery to The Linnean Society at Burlington House where the items are returned in the condition in which they were sold.

If you believe the goods were defective at the time of dispatch you must advise info@linnean.orf within 48 hours of the date of delivery. Your right to return goods that are faulty or not fit for purpose are protected under UK law.

The Site and its original content, features and functionality are owned by The Linnean Society of London and are protected by international copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret and other intellectual property or proprietary rights laws.

We may terminate your access to the Site, without cause or notice, which may result in the forfeiture and destruction of all information associated with you. All provisions of this Agreement that by their nature should survive termination shall survive termination, including, without limitation, ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, indemnity, and limitations of liability.

Our Site may contain links to third-party sites that are not owned or controlled by The Linnean Society of London.

The Linnean Society of London has no control over, and assumes no responsibility for, the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third party sites or services. We strongly advise you to read the terms and conditions and privacy policy of any third-party site that you visit.

This Agreement (and any further rules, polices, or guidelines incorporated by reference) shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Kingdom, without giving effect to any principles of conflicts of law.

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms and Conditions by posting the updated terms on the Site. Your continued use of the Site after any such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms and Conditions.

Please review this Agreement periodically for changes. If you do not agree to any of this Agreement or any changes to this Agreement, do not use, access or continue to access the Site or discontinue any use of the Site immediately.
