Darwin, Wallace and The Linnean Society of London

2008 marked the 150th anniversary of the reading of the Darwin and Wallace papers on July 1st 1858 and, at the same time, marked one of the most important moments in the history of the Society. A Special Issue of The Linnean was published in January 2009 in recognition of this milestone.

The Linnean Special Issue No. 9 - Survival of the Fittest: Celerating the 150th anniversary of the Darwin-Wallace theory of evolution.

In addition we are posting some five articles on Darwin and Wallace (listed below) from previous issues of The Linnean by way of introduction to this Special Issue.

Please note that the page layouts of these articles are not exactly the same as when they were first published: the page numbers are different (original citation given below), the header used in each is the current layout and these articles all start at the top of a page which was not always so when originally published.
