Fun Palaces

A Fun Palace is a campaign for culture at the heart of community – an annual weekend of arts and science events created by, for and with local people. Numerous Science organisations are located in or close to the parish – including the learned societies in Burlington House – which will come together on the same day.

DNA is the blueprint for life and is found within all living organisms. But have you ever seen it and what do we use it for in science? Come along to The Linnean Society of London’s Fun Palaces exhibit where you'll get to take on the role of a modern scientist and extract DNA from strawberries, before following in Darwin’s footsteps and creating your own Tree of Life artwork to take home with you. It's going to be messy!

We’ll also be running tours of The Linnean Society headquarters at Burlington House throughout the afternoon. Please visit our exhibit to find out more!
