This workshop is part of a series of events leading up to the Linnean Society Student Conference 2020. It is suitable for postgraduate students looking to improve their public engagement skills.
There will be a maximum of eight participants with one facilitator so that individual attention can be given.

Whether its for a viva, a conference or just to friends and family, public speaking about research can be a stressful part of any scientist's life.
In this student skill session, we'll be exploring how we can prepare ourselves properly, keep calm and collected, and think deeply about the way in which we communicate.
The workshop will be led by the Society's Events and Communications Manager, Leanne Melbourne.
This workshop costs £5 and is open to all. Please get in touch if this fee is a barrier to attendance and we will waive the fee.
- Registration is essential to secure your place.
- Places will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
- All materials will be provided.
- The session will take place in our Discovery Room which is home to some of the Society's unique historical collections.
