Paleoclimatic impacts on biodiversity and ecosystems - insights from ecoinformatics
This evening meeting is linked to the Online Taxonomy Day taking place on the 20th September.
What determines diversity patterns across the Earth is a major issue for science. The large-scale and complex nature of this question makes it very difficult to address using classical experimental approaches. Now the massive increases in the availability of geospatial biodiversity and environmental data in combination with creative informatics approaches (ecoinformatics) offer new opportunities for progress on this and other complex large-scale questions.
Tea will be served in the Library from 5.30pm and the lecture will be followed by a wine reception.
This meeting is free and open to all; registration is not necessary.
