Oceans cover seven tenths of our planet and are home to a huge range of living things. Dr Helen Scales will unveil the oceans’ living wonders, offer a glimpse into the life of a marine biologist, and show why there’s never been a more important time to look after the marine realm.

Helen is a marine biologist, writer and documentary-maker. She’s studied giant fish on coral reefs in Borneo, Australian whale sharks, Madagascan mangroves and she’s recently returned from a journey around the world researching her latest book, about the wonders of fishes.

Our Student Lectures are open to all students interested in life sciences and the natural world. Although mainly pitched at undergraduates, A-level students and accompanying teachers/lecturers are also welcome. Registration for Linnean Learning Events is essential. Please find the registration form below
