ART CLASS 18:00–20:00 Thursday 19th September 2019

Nature Collection
Work produced by Rebecca Jewell, inspired by Jan Van Kessel

This evening class will allow participants to make a composition form natural history specimens, including insects, butterflies, shells and seed-pods. They will then sketch their 'nature collection' using dip-pen and ink, and watercolour, and have a finished picture to take home.

The class will take place in the newly-built studio in the Linnean Society, which has a wonderful cabinet display of specimens, books and objects.

This two-hour workshop costs £30 and is open to all.

  • Registration is essential to secure your place.
  • Places will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Doors will open at 17.45 and the workshops will begin at 18.00. A talk will be happening in our Meeting Room at the same time so please make yourself known to staff at the reception.
  • All necessary materials will be provided.

PSSST! Did you know the Discovery Workshop programme is non-for-profit, with any leftover income cycling back to subsidise places for those who are unable to pay? To apply for a subsidised or free place, please send an email to learning@linnean.org, noting which workshop/course you are interested in attending.
