As guests of Simon Hiscock, Professor of Botany and Director of the University of Bristol Botanic Garden, Fellows of the Linnean Society are invited to join the Linnean Society team at the University of Bristol Botanic Garden, for the annual Conversazione. This 1.77 hectare garden, the first new University botanic garden to be built in nearly 40 years, is home to 4,500 species arranged in 4 collections, to provide a unique teaching, research and conservation resource.
Refreshments and lunch (including wine) will be served and there will be plenty of opportunity to relax with other Fellows and staff and look around the gardens.

11.30 - 13:00 Tour of the Botanic Garden with Professor Simon Hiscock (Director) and Nick Wray (Curator)
13:00 - 14:00 Lunch in the Devers Room
14:00 - 14:45 Talk on Writhlington School Orchid Project by Zoe Parfitt (Botanic Garden Trainee and former student at Writhlington School)
14:45 - 15:30 Talk on Bristol’s relationship with its partner Botanic Garden in South Africa – The Garden Route Botanic Garden by Nick Wray (Curator)
15:30 - 16:30 Tea and discussion with students from Writhlington School Orchid Project and Botanic Garden Staff
16:30 - 18:00 Drink and time in the Botanic Garden
