EDUCATION EVENT 18:00–19:00 Thursday 22 March 2018
Join the BioMedia Meltdown competition in celebrating the creativity of the students who took part in 2017/18. The project, funded by John Lyon’s Charity, brings art and science together for students aged 11–14.
The competition gives students the opportunity to show off their understanding of science using their skills to produce a piece of creative media looking at Ecosystems and/or Evolution. Entries utilise a wide variety of media (including videos, blogs, poems, short stories, photos, sculptures, songs and paintings) and explore a range of scientific ideas such as food webs, human food security, extinction, natural selection, biodiversity and gene banks.
During the event you’ll have the opportunity to meet some creative STEM professionals, find out about their careers and try your hand at some creative science activities. It is time to get creative in the name of science!
