FOUNDER'S DAY 18:00–19:00 Monday 3 December 2018
Philip's joint passions – wild flowers and art history have occasionally come together. Philip will show some examples of how botanical elements within paintings he has handled have helped lead to revelations, and also how in later life he has come to discover the delights of an artist whom he considers to be the most significant flower painter of the 20th Century, Cedric Morris.
Philip Mould OBE FLS is an art dealer recognised on the international scale for the popular BBC1 programme Fake or Fortune? Philip has his own fine art gallery which he has been running for the past thirty years. He is known for his numerous and significant art historical discoveries including the only portrait of Prince Arthur Tudor. For twenty years he held the position of official art adviser to the House of Commons and to the House of Lords and in 2013 he was awarded an honorary doctorate by the University of East Anglia where he studied history of art at the Sainsbury Centre.
